Privacy Notice
For Clients of Mitchell Freedman Accountancy Corporation
This Privacy Notice applies to clients of the Mitchell Freedman Accountancy Corporation ("MFAC"), a company that is licensed by the California Board of Accountancy and provides accountancy and business management services. It is important to MFAC that its clients are aware of its privacy policy. Accountancy firms, like all companies who receive personal financial information pertaining through their provision of services to customers, are required by law to inform their clients, in writing, of their policies regarding privacy of client information. Accountancy firms like MFAC have been and continue to be bound by professional standards of confidentiality that are even more stringent than those required by the recently enacted federal privacy laws. When appropriate, MFAC is referred to below as "we".
We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:
- Information we receive from you during meetings and discussions, on applications, tax preparation organizers, worksheets, and other documents we use in tax preparation or providing our services to you;
- Information we receive from you and others in connection with MFAC's provision of accountancy, business management and tax preparation services;
- Information about your transactions with us or others; and
- Information we receive from consumer reporting agencies.
We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our clients or former clients to anyone, except as permitted or required by law. For example, we may disclose certain items of personal information we collect, as described above, with our affiliated company, MFAC Financial Advisors, Inc. Additionally, we may need to discuss your personal information with others, such as your banker or attorney, in order to provide services to you. Furthermore, in limited situations, we may need to provide certain information to unrelated third parties who need to know that information to assist us in providing services to you. In all such situations, we stress the confidential nature of information being shared.
We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to our employees and agents who need to know that information in order to provide services to you. We maintain physical, computer, and procedural safeguards to guard your nonpublic personal information.
